Lucio Del Pezzo
Lucio Del Pezzo (Naples, December 1933) is an artist, painter and Italian sculptor. Among the founders of 58 Group in Naples, with a neo surrealist and neo-Dadaist approach, Del Pezzo has also collaborated in the magazine South Document. His works of the period 1958-1960 proposed assemblies of various objects, including fragments of popular prints and images. From 1962 Del Pezzo has developed a repertoire of his typical "square" or "sculptures", formed by geometric monochrome panels on which are carved shelves or concavity that support regular geometric objects (pins, wooden eggs, bowls, mannequins, etc.). In its object-paintings and in his assemblages is always evident a playful attitude, which characterizes his production.
