Liquid Metal is one of the most iconic Laurameroni finishes: artisanal, innovative, shiny and unconventional, it is used on our collections to reinvent wooden surfaces and enhance carvings.
This unique finish is available in bronze, white bronze, light bronze, tin and 9k gold, as well as in the special Juta, Corteccia, Unlimited and Raptor textures.
The Liquid Metal, very different from a simple painting, combines a technologically advanced preparation with a patient and precise artisanal treatment in order to obtain a luminous and brilliant appearance. The result underlines and exalts once again our relentless search for unique and unconventional solutions in perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

Skilled Craftsmen hands
The expression Liquid Metal does not in any way define a metallic varnishing, but a completely different artisanal process, created to reproduce a real metal mirror effect.
The process is based on an artisanal technique involving several stages of production: the first is the processing of the wooden and carved piece of furniture or panel.
On the wooden surface, we apply several layers of resins to ensure stability and resistance, smoothing the surfaces with special abrasive papers.
The next phase (and the most important) is the preparation of the metal powder, verified by a precise particle size and mixed with chemicals to obtain a real metal casting.
When the metal powder is ready, we proceed with the atomization and spraying on the wooden surface to obtain an irregular, porous and opaque effect.
The last steps involve cleaning the metal crust and repeated sanding with abrasive papers and felts, using suitable pastes to restore shine and smoothness to the touch.
Finally, nanotechnological resins and waxes will be applied to stop the natural oxidation of the metal without compromising its naturalness.
Liquid Metal is a mixture of powdered metals, such as bronze and tin, which is carefully liquified at low temperatures to be applied on wood surfaces.

In 2017 the Liquid Metal finish was created to best enhance and reinvent the particular carving on the solid wood of our Maxima collection. The new, incredibly bright finish immediately gave new life and new character to this unique model, that is still contemporary after 20 years.
Soon Liquid Metal becomes an iconic and extremely contemporary finish for Laurameroni, and wil be applied not only on the Maxima carving, but on all the carvings in the collection.
Over the years, Liquid Metal becomes a real signature for Laurameroni, developing into real collections and unique textures, almost exclusively designed to enhance its uniqueness, such as the Unlimited, Corteccia, Juta and Raptor.
